CSM Brian S. Cullen

Garrison Command Sergeant Major

CSM Brian S. Cullen, a Washington State native, enlisted in the United States Army in 1989 and attended Advance Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, Az., where he trained as an intelligence analyst.

CSM Cullen has served in the Army for more than 27 years in various assignments throughout the United States and overseas. His assignments include 3rd Brigade, 3rd Armor Division, Ray Barracks, Friedberg, Germany; Task Force 1-70th, 194th Separate Armored Brigade, Fort Knox, Ky.; 1st Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, Camp Casey, South Korea; 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Battalion and 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA; Joint Analysis Center, RAF Molesworth, UK; 309th Military Intelligence Battalion, 111th Military Intelligence Brigade, Fort Huachuca, AZ; Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (3rd Special Forces Group), Bagram, Afghanistan; 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart; 2nd Military Intelligence Element (Pentagon Detachment); 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion and 3rd Military Intelligence Battalion (Aerial Exploitation), 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; 224th Military Intelligence Battalion (Aerial Exploitation), 513th Military Intelligence Brigade, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; 500th Military Intelligence Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

He has also deployed in support of Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

CSM Cullen has held leadership position as a section leader, platoon sergeant, first sergeant, detachment NCOIC, and battalion and brigade command sergeant major.

CSM Cullen holds a Bachelors of Arts in Intelligence Studies and a Master of Arts in International Relations both from American Military University. His military education includes Battle Staff NCO Course, Basic Instructor Course, and all levels of the noncommissioned officer education system. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 61.

CSM Cullen's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), and NATO Service Medal.
