Plastic Pollution
Learn about the Saint Louis connection to plastic pollution in our oceans. The unit also includes geography and language arts components as well as community service project ideas and opportunities.
Decomposer Detectives
“Decomposer Detectives” is an activity in which students explore samples of working compost to find creatures that are a part of the decomposer community.

We have educational programs for students of all levels that are available free of charge to all public and private schools in Saint Louis County. Presentations are typically about 45 minutes in length. Please allow at least two weeks’ notice.
Bottles recycled: 380,000!
The numbers are in! Schools participating in our bottle cap challenge this fall have collected plastic caps from 380,000 bottles, enough to fill 4 shipping containers. That’s 1,900 pounds of plastic caps!

Storm drain art participation wins recognition
Saint Louis County and the Resourceful Schools Project was recognized by the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District on September 22, 2016, for our exceptional participation in the Storm Drain Art Education Program.

We will come to your school to conduct the lab and bring all necessary equipment and supplies, including goggles and gloves.
Eek! It leaks! A lesson for students in grades 3-8
In this activity, students are charged with the task of constructing a leak-proof bag using 4 plastic strips and masking tape. The challenge is they are given only a limited amount of tape.
