Internships

The NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) offers a limited number of internship opportunities to high school, undergraduate and graduate students who reside within a 50-mile radius of the institute, which is located in the Upper West Side-Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City.

Many student internships at NASA GISS are part of the year-round Climate Change Research Initiative (CCRI). Teams of high school and undergraduate students and faculty work alongside graduate students and the lead scientists of NASA-funded research projects at universities in the New York City metropolitan region or at NASA/GISS under the mentorship of a GISS scientist.

Most non-CCRI intership opportunities require some level of college astudy and coding or other technical experience.
