By Center for Information Warfare Training Public Affairs - December 14, 2016
PENSACOLA, Fla. — Navy staff and students at Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Corry Station took on their Army counterparts in an annual flag football game, Dec. 10.

The schoolhouse's contest, which occurs every year before the Army-Navy college football game, brought students and staff together to promote morale and pride in their respective services.

"Events like this bring us together as we bond through competition," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Marvin Bonneyville of the Navy team. "This tradition has been going on for a long time, and it feels great to be a part of it."

Navy took the lead early on as they scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Navy continued to push their advantage, scoring another touchdown with four seconds left in the second quarter to end the first half with a score of 13-0.

Navy held a comfortable lead in the second half as Army scored for the first time in the third quarter on a passing play down the sideline. Army managed to score again in the fourth quarter, but the game ended with a score of 35-13 as Navy took home the winner's trophy.

The friendly rivalry was organized by the Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station Petty Officer Association.

"The coordination between the Army and Navy and how we conducted ourselves out there was what we expect from our service members," said Petty Officer 1st Class Timothy Becker,. "It was a fun and beautiful day to play football."

Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station, as part of the Center for Information Warfare Training, provides a continuum of training to Navy and joint service personnel that prepares them to conduct information warfare across the full spectrum of military operations.
