In addition to the 508 acres of water currently open to fishing at Paradise Public Fishing Area in Berrien County, Horseshoe 6 Lake (3-acres) will help anglers ring in the New Year as it opens to the public at sunrise on Jan. 1, 2017, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD).

Commercial fishermen can take to the water beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 to take advantage of the opening day of shad season, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). Shad season runs through midnight on Friday, March 31, 2017.
