The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), part of DOE’s national laboratory system, is owned and operated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). NETL supports DOE’s mission to advance the national, economic, and energy security of the United States. NETL has expertise in coal, natural gas, and oil technologies, contract and project management, analysis of energy systems, and international energy issues and has sites in Morgantown, WV; Pittsburgh, PA; Sugar Land, TX; Albany, OR; and Fairbanks, AK.

Savannah River Site
The Savannah River Site (SRS) is a nuclear reservation located in Aiken, South Carolina. It's adjacent to the Savannah River, 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Augusta, Georgia.
Our site was built in the 1950's to refine nuclear materials for deployment in nuclear weapons. Today, the Savannah River Site covers 310 square miles and employs more than 10,000 people.

Western Area Power Administration
Western Area Power Administration is one of four power marketing administrations within the U.S. Department of Energy whose role is to market and transmit electricity from multi-use water projects. Our service area encompasses a 15-state region of the central and western U.S. in which our transmission system carries electricity from 56 power plants operated by the Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the International Boundary and Water Commission, and one coal-fired plant. Together, these plants have an installed capacity of 10,505 megawatts.
Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) facilitates deployment of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the marketplace. EERE employees are dedicated to driving down costs and removing barriers to enable cost-effective, widespread deployment of advanced clean energy technologies. To accomplish this, EERE employees work collaboratively with researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and National Energy Technology Lab. EERE employees have expertise in clean energy technologies, project management, financial assistance, information technology, environmental and lab oversight, operations and budget, stakeholder engagement and communications.
National Nuclear Security Administration
The National Nuclear Security Administration's main responsibilities are the management and security of the nation’s nuclear weapons, nuclear nonproliferation, and naval reactor programs. NNSA ensures that the nation's nuclear defense meet's the country's national security requirements and serves its essential deterrence role.
When needed, NNSA is the primary responder for nuclear and radiological emergencies in the United States and abroad. NNSA federal agents also provide safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons and special nuclear materials. Specific subject matter expertise also includes physical and personnel security, protective forces, nuclear materials control and accountability, classified and sensitive information protection, and technical security programs.
Richland Operations Office
The Richland Operations Office (RL) and Office of River Protection (ORP) are responsible for managing and operating the 586-square mile Hanford Site in the Southeastern part of Washington state.
For more than forty years, reactors located at Hanford produced plutonium for America’s defense program. Today, these facilities and structures must be deactivated, decommissioned, decontaminated, and demolished. Only here can you be part of this type of environmental cleanup.
Idaho Operations Office
The Idaho Operations Office is the nation’s premier nuclear energy research laboratory. Our team oversees the activities of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), as well the Idaho Cleanup Project that carries out waste management and environmental cleanup activities at the 890-square mile Idaho Site.
Idaho Operations Office is located in scenic Eastern Idaho. We are driving distance from Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, and the resort areas of Sun Valley and Jackson Hole, WY.
Southwestern Power Administration
Southwestern Area Power Administration's markets hydroelectric power and energy to repay the U.S. Treasury for all costs associated with the production and marketing of hydroelectric power. These costs include principal and interest on dam construction, as well as annual costs of operation and maintenance. Southwestern’s mission recognizes the many competing uses for water and finds ways to share this precious natural resource.
