The Ecological Services staff in the Pacific Region covers Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. Ecological Services staff members use the best available science and sound managerial techniques to further the Service's mission to conserve, protect, and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. We do this by:
• Identifying species on the verge of extinction
• Helping build the road to recovery to bring them back
• Ensuring that fish and wildlife resources are considered by agencies during project planning and structure construction
• Protecting and restoring coastal resources
• Partnering with private landowners to restore fish and wildlife habitats
• Investigating the effects and clean-up of contaminants and restoring polluted habitats
