Overview

Butterflies are loved, but many are also in trouble. Did you know that Dakota skipper populations have dropped to very low numbers and is gone from most historical sites? This species, along with the Poweshiek skipperling are now listed under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, and are among 15 butterflies that are “Endangered”, “Threatened”, or of “Special Concern” by Minnesota.
