Overview

The alternatives analysis provides alternative approaches to achieving the performance objectives of a digital product, service or investment. Large investments may include a cost-benefit analysis. These analyses are performed prior to the initial decision to make an investment and should be updated periodically as appropriate to capture changes in the context for an investment decision. The alternatives analysis and cost-benefit analysis are procurement artifacts and can be used in Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) reviews.
