Annex IV Webinar #11 Recent Research of Interest to the MRE Industry Jan 18, 2017 This webinar will feature two recent sets of research findings that will further elucidate the importance of EMF from cables and fish interaction with devices to the industry.
WREN Webinar #9 Adaptive Management in the Wind Energy Industry Nov 16, 2016 A recent review of Adaptive Management (AM) has clarified fundamental differences in the definition of AM, and its application to projects or planning processes. This webinar sets out to explore these experiences and suggest the possibility of a common definition and framework for AM that is capable of supporting the needs of wind energy development where there are potential conflicts with wildlife.  It will examine how AM has been applied to wind energy development around the world, with a focus on examples from the US and UK.
WREN Webinar #8 Assessing Marine and Avian Wildlife Off the New York Coast Jul 21, 2016

In an effort to ensure that potential offshore wind development protects the environment and addresses the concerns of coastal communities, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is conducting a multi-year aerial survey of wildlife in this area. Regional-scale baseline information on seasonal wildlife distributions, abundance and movements will inform the relative biodiversity of the development sites. The surveys will also provide a better understanding of the potential effects of individual projects, as well as the potential cumulative effects of multiple projects. This webinar will outline the planned scope of the survey project and provide insights in the technical aspects of image collection, processing, species identification and data presentation.

Annex IV Webinar #10 Role of Biofouling in Marine Renewable Energy Development Jul 12, 2016 While not yet considered to be a key strategic consenting issue by regulatory bodies, biofouling is becoming an important consideration for device developers and operators with increasing deployment experience. Similarly, as more devices are deployed, regulators are increasingly pressed to understand the potential for spread of non-native species, as well as any artificial reef impacts.
WREN Webinar #7 Wind Energy Development Impacts on Marine Environment Jun 28, 2016 This webinar will discuss noise monitoring research and mitigation to help protect marine life from the impacts of wind energy development-related sounds produced during the building phases and types of foundations.
Annex IV Webinar #9

2016 Annex IV State of the Science
