Welcome to the
Massachusetts State House

The magnificent setting of state government for over two centuries, the Massachusetts capitol is also a museum reflecting the history of the Commonwealth since colonial times. Its marble-floored corridors and spacious ceremonial rooms are filled with works of art depicting our state's unique heritage.

This tour describes nine historic spaces and highlights paintings, sculpture, artifacts, and decorative arts commemorating the people and events that helped to shape the Commonwealth and nation. Please select a floor or room to begin.

The Virtual Tour features large panoramic images. A high-speed internet connection is recommended. These panoramas require the Flash plugin; visitors using mobile devices or assistive software are encouraged to use the List or Thumbnail views.
