Your ICC Membership Status will fall into one of three categories:

Governmental Member

Government/Municipality (includes agencies, departments & units) engaged in administration, formulation or enforcement of laws, regulations or ordinances relating to public health, safety and welfare.

A Governmental Member may designate 4-12 voting representatives (based on population) who are employees or officials of that governmental member and are actively engaged full or part-time in the administration, formulation, implementation or enforcement of laws, ordinances, rules regulations relating to public health, safety and welfare. Governmental Members have voting rights. Read the ICC By-Laws, Articles II and III to learn more, including the allowed number of Governmental Member Voter Representatives (GMVRs.)

Corporate Member

An organization such as an association, society, testing laboratory, institute, company, manufacturer or corporation, interested in the purposes and objectives of the Council. Any government organization not meeting the criteria of a Governmental Member as described in Section 2.1.1 of the ICC bylaws may also join as a Corporate Member.

Individual Member

Building Safety Professional Member

An individual who is interested in the purposes and objectives of the Council.

Certified Member

Any individual who is the holder of a current certification from the ICC.

Participating Member

An individual who participates in and supports the vision and mission of the organization.

Note: Each Participating Member receives a subscription to the Building Safety Journal Online magazine, exclusive access to the members-only area of the website, and discounts on products and services. A Participating Member does not receive access to ICC code opinions nor a complimentary International Code.

Student Member

Any individual enrolled in classes or a course of study equivalent to at least 3 credit hours of classroom instruction per week.

Associate Member

An employee of a current ICC Governmental Member.

Retired Member

Any former representative of a Governmental Member or a Corporate Member or a former individual member who is retired.

*If you have had an active membership within the past five years, you may reinstate that membership account. Reinstated memberships are not eligible for the complimentary codes book(s) that new members receive upon joining. All other membership benefits will be reinstated.
