Overview:

Dr. Hoyt has had over 30 years of experience with research related to NMR. His traditional research focus has been on the structure and dynamics of bio-complexes and metabolite identification via NMR, but more recently has broadened his interests to include bio-geochemistry and NMR specialty-probe development projects. Dr. Hoyt has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications including articles in Nature Microbiology, Nature Structural Biology, Molecular Cell, JACS, Biochemistry, and Journal of Magnetic Resonance.  He has worked for over 10 years in management and 19 years support of the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory User Facility, providing technical support and research collaboration for various user projects in high field liquids NMR with structural biology and metabolomics applications. Led an effort to site and develop ~ 12 M in new American Reinvestment and Recovery Act funded magnetic resonance systems between June 2009 - November 2011. From 2002 to present he has helped site and develop over 24 M in NMR/EPR capital equipment to EMSL. This work included enhancements to in-situ NMR bioreactor and metabolomics capabilities. Present interests now include further developing and participating in metabolomics research in both biological and bio-geologic contexts. He will directly participate in high resolution NMR experimental design, data collection and analysis.
