With tempertures running well above normal, February felt a little more like spring than winter.

Temperatures averaged well above normal during February, which was the eleventh consecutive month to average warmer than normal in the Northeast. It was the warmest February at four locations in and around New York City; more than half of the First Order stations in the region were within the top 10 warmest February’s on record. Climatological winter (December - February) also ended up warmer than normal with temperatures at all of the Northeast’s first order stations within the top 20 warmest on record.
