Welcome to OATS
OATS, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation providing specialized transportation for senior citizens, people with disabilities and the rural general public in 87 Missouri counties. OATS, Incorporated helps people get to work, doctor appointments, essential shopping, and other places people need to go. As a public transportation provider, OATS buses traveled 16,050,627 miles last year to serve residents in the Show-Me State.
Founded in 1971 by a group of seniors who saw a need for transportation, especially in rural areas, OATS has grown to be one of the largest and most unique systems of its kind in the country. OATS serves a wide variety of clientele, it is not just for seniors.
There are more than 34,000 people in Missouri who utilize the services of OATS. Last year, 1,702,272 one-way trips were provided with a fleet of over 800 vehicles and a staff of 750.
The mission of OATS, Inc. is to provide reliable transportation for transportation disadvantaged Missourians so they can live independently in their own communities.

OATS Staff and Board Voice Importance of Public Transportation in Missouri to Legislators

On Tuesday, January 29, OATS representatives from across the state met with their local legislators to remind them of the importance of Missouri’s public transportation system. The main message was to ask Legislator’s for their support for public transit, and remind them that OATS is an important part of Missouri’s public transportation funding. Budgetary decisions made in Jefferson City affect the services that OATS is able to provide in their local communities.
OATS Promotes a Culture of Wellness

Of all the assets held by a company, none are more important than its employees. Healthy employees are the backbone of productivity, and that is no different for OATS, Inc. a statewide nonprofit transportation provider. OATS is initiating a statewide program, dubbed OATS Wellness for Life Program, which will begin next month.
OATS, Inc. receives donation from BTC Bank

BTC Bank is pleased to announce today a donation to OATS, Inc., a Missouri non-profit organization. In an effort to ensure Northwest Missouri residents are provided reliable transportation to allow them to live independently in their own communities, BTC Bank presented OATS, Inc. with a check in the amount of $26,850. The donation will be used to assist with the purchase of new vans for the Northwest Missouri area.
