Online Training

Online training resources provide students access to training opportunities that allow them to acquire knowledge via a variety of online, interactive, or collaborative courses, references and resources.

Knowledge Resources

Knowledge resources are audio, video, still image, document, and reference materials that augment online course offerings.

Learning Resources

Learning resources are training opportunities delivered via online methods that include:

  • Broadcasts - Distribution of audio and video delivered to an audience either online or via television. The NCTC studio hosts two live broadcast channels as well as an archive of previously aired broadcasts.

  • Job Aids - Step-by-step instructions that describe how to accomplish a specific task.

  • Online Courses - Training delivered using a variety of interactive, collaborative, or virtual classroom methods.

  • Podcasts - Audio segments on topics that include Community Lectures, Human Dimensions, Eagle Cam, and Student Climate and Conservation Congress (SC3).

  • Tutorials - Recorded demonstration of a task or process or an overview of an application or product.

  • Videos
    • Video Gallery - The Video Gallery shows selected video highlights for categories that include: Broadcasts, Careers, Climate Change, Community Lecture, Communications, Conservation in Action, Education and Outreach, EEO, Diversity, and Ethics, Electrofishing, Fish and Wildlife Management, Human Dimensions, Invasive Species, Utility Rights-of-Way, National Wildlife Refuges, Performance Reviews, Supervisor Updates, Wind Energy, and B-Roll.

    • Video Collection (National Digital Library) - The Video Collection depicts the outstanding work of our FWS videographers who have produced outreach and instructional tools available for public access and depicts the outstanding work of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and its conservation partners.
  • Webinars - A webinar is a presentation, lecture, or meeting delivered via the internet that allows simultaneous information sharing to a geographically dispersed locations.
