    MP Region Joins the Fun at Winters Salmon Festival

    On Nov. 4, 2016, the Bureau of Reclamation joined the Solano County Water Agency, Solano County Parks, Putah Creek Council, the City of Winters, and many others in celebrating the first ever Winters, CA Salmon Festival. Staff from the Lake Berryessa Field Office participated in the event in downtown Winters, where they shared with over 130 visitors many ways that Sal the Salmon could make better use of water.     Elephant Butte Dam 100th Anniversary - Deputy Commissioner David Palumbo Remarks

    The Bureau of Reclamation today celebrated 100 years since the completion of Elephant Butte Dam in southern New Mexico. Officials from Reclamation, the International Boundary and Water Commission, State of New Mexico, New Mexico’s Congressional Delegation, Elephant Butte Irrigation District and El Paso County Water Improvement District No. 1 marked the event during a ceremony near the base of the dam. A highlight of the event was when officials unveiled a new plaque commemorating Elephant Butte’s 100 years of operation.

New Melones Launches Every Kid in a Park Pass New Melones Launches Every Kid in a Park Pass

New Melones Lake is proud to help launch the Every Kid in a Park program, as part of President Obama’s commitment to protect our nation’s unique outdoor spaces and ensure that every American has the opportunity to visit and enjoy them. Fourth graders nationwide can now visit the new Every Kid in a Park website to obtain a pass that provides free access to students and their families to all federally managed lands and waters – including national parks, forests, wildlife refuges and marine sanctuaries. The pass is valid for the 2015-2016 school year and grants free entry for fourth graders and three accompanying adults (or an entire car for drive-in parks) at more than 2,000 federally-managed sites.
