Coastal Impact Assistance Program - Archives
October 2011 - The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program announces the publication of the Request for Applications (RFA) for the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP), CFDA 15.668 on Grants.gov. The RFA will be open through December 13, 2013.
August 2011 - The Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) had vacancies for Fish and Wildlife Biologists. Applications were accepted from any U.S. citizen. These were term appointments not to exceed 4 years.
August 2011 - On July 29th, all CIAP recipients received an invitation to participate in a national conference call with WSFR scheduled for August 24th. Frequently Asked Questions were distributed along with a welcome letter from Hannibal Bolton, AD - WSFR.
June 2011 - The Assistant Director, Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program (WSFR), and staff will meet with the Texas General Land Office representatives on June 13 to discuss the transition of the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) from BOEMRE to FWS-WSFR and actions to minimize impacts to grant recipients. CIAP authorizes $1 billion in federal funds to be distributed to Outer Continental Shelf oil and gas producing States (AK, AL, CA, LA, MS, and TX) and the associated coastal political subdivisions for the conservation, protection, and preservation of coastal areas, including wetlands. The Texas meeting follows discussions with representatives from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Alaska, which have all been very productive and supportive of DOI's realignment of the CIAP grant administration responsibilities. A similar meeting with California CIAP representatives is scheduled for August.
