The Joint Capability Integration and Development System analysis process. It answers several key questions for the validation authority prior to his approval: defines the mission; identifies capabilities required; determines attributes/standards of capabilities required; identifies gaps; assesses operational risk associated with gaps; prioritizes gaps; identifies and assesses non-materiel solutions; and provides recommendations for addressing the gaps.
