A few years ago I saw a video of someone who used two opposing radio transmitters to vibrate the salt molecules in salt water. The vibrations were so fierce tha...t the water combusted. I had the idea that this could be used to make a jet engine that runs under water. Imagine, if you will, a submarine that could do 60 to 70 knots submerged! I beleive this could be a game changer. I have no idea if this has been conceived of before, but if this is a viable technology, I want in! (at least a demonstration)
Thank you for your time. A.D.R.

Yesterday, SSC Pacific’s Battlespace Exploitation of Mixed Reality (BEMR) team visited the USS Theodore Roosevelt to do a site survey for Trident Warrior, an annual exercise to test new ideas and innovations in a real-world environment.

During the upcoming exercise, the BEMR team plans to test their augmented-reality heads-up display, providing warfighters with a transparent display that presents data without requiring them to look away from their usual viewpoints.

We have so much for which to be thankful, and we are especially grateful for the members of our military! Happy Thanksgiving!

It's not Thursday yet, but here's a throwback for you -- the Thanksgiving dinner menu from the U.S. Naval Repair Base in San Diego, 1944.

SSC PACIFIC ON THE CUTTING EDGE!

Demand for the Center’s products and services has never been higher. To meet that need, SSC Pacific’s ranks grew to 4,800 in fiscal year 2016, and several new office spaces and buildings were rolled out in October to accommodate this new talent and new workload.

Included among the additions was a collaboration-focused office renovation for the Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-NET) and Base Level Information Infrastructure (BLII) teams in Old Town, a new lab for the End-to-End group to complete all C4I network architecture testing, and a new robotics testing and integration facility. #TechTuesday

SSC Atlantic employees volunteered in the 16th annual Day of Caring on November 18 at North Charleston, SC High School. The main project was to install the fence topper on the dugout fences, but the cougar that was "planted" was probably the most meaningful project yet. There were over 6000 people from businesses all over the Lowcountry who participated in the Day of Caring this year on 275 projects at agencies and schools.

As we all prep for another Thanksgiving holiday this week, we want to know what you're thankful for about the #USNavy this year?
