On 30 September, 2015, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management began sending letters of notification to current and former Service Members, civilian employees and others impacted by the OPM data breach. Don't assume you are not affected just because you have not yet received a letter.  This process will take a considerable amount of time to complete.  Stay vigilant and take advantage of the tools provided within this site to protect your private information.

Earlier this year, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) became aware of unprecedented compromises to government employee personal data. OPM, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to investigate the extent of these intrusions. Additionally, OPM confirmed an incident affecting background investigation records of current, former, and prospective federal employees, military members, and contractors. While the spectrum of risk to affected individuals is also not fully known, it is reasonable to assume it includes identity theft at a minimum. Timely and accurate information will be posted as it becomes available on this website. DON leaders will also communicate with you through a variety of channels.



01 December 2015 - OPM has established a verification center to help individuals who have had their information stolen in the malicious cyber intrusion carried out against the Federal Government. This verification center will help those who believe their data may have been taken but have not received a notification letter from the government. The center will also assist individuals who have received a letter letting them know they were impacted by the background investigation records intrusion, but who have lost the PIN code that allows them to sign up for the free services that the Federal Government is providing....
