Welcome to the Performance Based Logistics Community of Practice (PBL CoP)!
This Community serves as an interdisciplinary platform to connect PBL practitioners from across multiple career fields, facilitate knowledge sharing and peer support, as well as provide a knowledge repository for key PBL-related material across the Department of Defense. Successful PBL strategy development and implementation is not just the responsibility of the Life Cycle Logistician and Product Support Manager, however. It requires the combined talents, engagement, and expertise of multiple functional disciplines. As the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics & Materiel Readiness said in a September-October 2012 Defense AT&L Magazine article, “…you really need A-team contracting officers, A-team sustainers, and A-team program managers to develop the right…PBL contract.”
This multi-functional/multi-disciplinary community of practice is comprised of extensive Performance-Based Life Cycle Product Support references for members of the Defense Acquisition Workforce and industry counterparts to leverage in developing and implementing effective and efficient outcome-based product support strategies that deliver optimized readiness, availability and life cycle cost outcomes to the Warfighter. Regardless of your career field or organization, if you have questions about PBL, encourage you to take advantage of the new PBL Ask-a-Professor (AAP) site to check out previous Q&A, or to submit a new question. Subject matter experts will respond with answer to your question. In addition, if you you are a member of this community and are logged onto this CoP, you can also submit PBL-related questions from whatever page you are on by simply clicking on the "Ask a Question" tab near the top of the page to start a discussion with other PBL CoP members.
