This memo retains the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer as the DON's Senior Military Component Official for Privacy, and delegates the responsibility for oversight and management activities of the Department's implementation of the Privacy Act. It further appoints the DON CIO as the DON Senior Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Official, and the DON Chief Civil Liberties Officer. It delegates the responsibility for oversight and management activities of the Department's implementation of FOIA as well as the Privacy and Civil Liberties Protection and Oversight Act.
