SSC Pacific honored at Pentagon with 2015 Gold Workforce Development Award

SAN DIEGO — The Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) is proud to announce the Command received the 2015 Defense Acquisition Gold Workforce Development Award, Large Organization, during a ceremony hosted by the Honorable Frank Kendall, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, Dec. 10, 2015, at the Pentagon Hall of Heroes in Arlington, Virginia.

SSC Pacific is being recognized for its exemplary progress in the development of its workforce. These accomplishments occurred, in large part, as a result of rigorous leadership focus and emphasis on this critical area.

SSC Pacific has demonstrated active support of workforce development in many ways and improvement has been realized in its acquisition, delivery, and tracking efforts; recruitment and retention; mentoring and career progression modeling; as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outreach efforts designed to build a pipeline of future talent for the organization.

SSC Pacific is driving change which translates into a more capable and diverse workforce postured to deliver information dominance for its naval, joint, national and coalition warfighters.

Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific provides the U.S. Navy and military with essential capabilities in the areas of command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR). SSC Pacific provides the full spectrum of C4ISR capabilities from basic research and prototype development, to extensive test and evaluation services, through systems engineering and integration, to installation and life-cycle support of fielded systems. SSC Pacific is a recognized leader in the cyber domain and for autonomous unmanned systems, and is providing the technological and engineering support critical to ensuring the Navy’s information dominance.
