Fact Sheet: Global Video Services (GVS)

Desktop-based Global Video Service (GVS) is an enterprise grade service that provides video teleconferencing capabilities to desktop users. The service is offered to Department of Defense Mission Partners with a need to collaborate over a secured but unclassified and a classified, high quality video teleconference over NIPRNET and SIPRNET.

Note: GVS Desktop soft client is required to control a video teleconferencing (VTC) session.

GVS service will enable our Mission Partners to obtain secure but unclassified and classifiedhigh-quality videoconferencing services from their desktop. GVS Desktop services will be available 24x7x365.

Features

GVS provides an IP-based, high quality and secure video teleconferencing conferencing experience and provides the following features:

  • High definition video quality with video encoding up to 720p30 and decoding up to 2880 x 1800; up to 60 fps
  • Single-click conference initiation
  • Multipoint Content Sharing: toggle to switch between shares from multiple participants
  • Display up to 8 participants in continuous presence, ideal for team discussions
  • Local layout controls to switch between active speaker, continuous presence and content sharing layouts
  • Guest links and PIN codes to conduct and secure conferences
  • Share any app or desktop into a conference for efficient real-time collaboration

Service rate information can be found on the DISA Direct Home page at https://www.disadirect.disa.mil under Inventory and Billing.

How to Order

Services can be ordered using the DDSF application located on DISA Direct. Customers must order SBU IP Data (NIPRNet) and Classified IP Data (SIPRNET) for GVSservice. 

Customers must register for unclassified GVS at this NIPRNET https://globalvideoservices.csd.disa.mil/gvs-web/, and for classified GVS at this SIPRNET https://globalvideoservices.csd.disa.smil.mil/gvs-web/.
