Marine Forces Reserve implements BLAM initiative
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Alvin G. Figueroa, a senior administrator from 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, gives advice to his peers about how the pilot test of the Battalion Level Administration Management initiative was successfully implemented at his unit during the 2016 Senior Administrator Symposium aboard Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Belle Chasse, La., Oct. 12-13, 2016. The symposium utilized instruction and practical application to help senior administrative personnel understand how and why the implementation of the Battalion Level Administrative Management initiative will improve Reserve units’ ability to pass MCAAT inspections. WWII Marine laid to rest in Mississippi
Lane Boler and Ronnie Taylor, view the casket holding the physical remains, uniform, and photo of Pfc. James Samuel Smith during a funeral held at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Miss., Oct. 17, 2016. Smith was killed in action on Nov. 20, 1943 on the small island of Betio in the Tarawa Atoll during World War II. Marines from Marine Forces Reserve honored Smith with a three-round volley and presentation of a folded flag to his next of kin during the burial of his remains.
