Dan Slick Receives 2009 Chief Information Officers Council Leadership Award

DON CIO Team Member Dan Slick recently received the Chief Information Officers Council Leadership Award. He received this honor for evolving the transition from the baseline architecture to a comprehensive and actionable enterprise architecture by providing a fundamental vision for advancing and implementing his agency's enterprise architecture directives, specifically Data Sharing in a Net-Centric Department of Defense. His development of DoD Joint Capability Areas-aligned Segment Reference Architectures provided the Department of the Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps leadership the architectural foundation upon which to align programs and systems, and for expansion.

The CIO Council Leadership Awards are given to career federal employees in the information technology field. Recipients are recognized for their dedication and commitment to advancing and improving electronic government and information technology that impact the way government conducts business. Winners were recognized during the 48th annual Interagency Resources Management Conference (IRMCO), which was presented by the U.S. General Services Administration, on April 20, 2009.
