Lt Col John Losinski joined DARPA as a Program Manager in May of 2011. He focuses on space system program management and technology development. Other areas of technical interest and expertise include spacecraft subsystems, electro-optical surveillance and optical sensors.
Prior to joining DARPA, Lt Col Losinski served as deputy chief of the Technology Division within the Office of Research for the Secretary of the Air Force. In this capacity he managed space programs and directed an advanced R&D budget to develop critical technologies to resolve joint warfighter ISR needs. He also served as the Director of Operations for Detachment 15 of the Air Force Research Laboratory where he directed a 120-member joint government/contractor team to plan and develop electro-optical surveillance technologies to meet USSTRATCOM, AFSPC and other national space intelligence needs.
Lt Col Losinski also served as an Acquisition Manager within the Space/Missile Systems Center. While working on the Orbital Deep Space Imager, he developed an acquisition strategy, schedule and cost estimate for a $2B GEO space situational awareness system.
Lt Col Losinski graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. He earned a Masters of Business Administration from Webster University. He also attended the Air Command and Staff College as well as Squadron Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base.
