I actually see her point - that they are sort of making it a bit too adult for the kids, like just give them cupcakes, cookies, hot chocolate, etc. But I wouldn't care enough about this to be mad, plus bagels are fucking awesome. Even kids like bagels.

They do. Getting there is fine, but looks like all nice areas are very far from the airport, and then getting around the island also requires pricey taxis or helicopter rides?

Won't spend $$$ in Mexico. We found Barbados very easy with the kids. Most hotels only 15 min from airport. We also did St. barths but was annoying because we couldn't land our plane on the island.

Stay at a resort near the airport or take a helicopter. the roads are super windy and it takes a while to get to the other side. that said, it's beautiful. we stayed at a place called the landings which was awesome. But like I said, copter there and back. It's not too pricey.

I'm 26 and have dates and been naked with guys in their 40s. Not a big deal. But I'm not shallow. Honestly guys are less physically beautiful than women at any age. I don't like them for their lack of wrinkles. I liked them for their personalities, emotional maturity, and quality caring boyfriend qualities.

don't care. I'm a millennials and honestly I've only ever noticed older women caring about this. I think my generation is far more open minded to age differences. I have a friend who married a guy 16 year older, a friend who married a guy 23 years older, many friends who married guys 8-10 year older, etc. I dated guys 10-20 years older in the past but ended up marrying a guy my own age. I don't have any negative thoughts. I think people who do are akin to those who judge people who marry a partner of a different race

+1. I'm 29 and think large age gap marriages are becoming more common since guys under 30 have too much debt to want to marry so girls have to look to older men if they want to have kids while they are young enough to still have viable eggs left. Guys under 35 just don't want to get married since they often have 100k in college debt. Only the rich ones want to marry. Lucky for me I found a rich 26 year old, but many of my middle class girlfriend married much older guys who were ready to support a family. I see this trend continuing for as long as college tuition prices are insanely high. It will create a generation of early widows in 50 years but then I suppose they could just remarry younger guys maybe

I think it's fine but you need to accept that you will likely deal much earlier with an aging spouse (kind of like an aging parent), and you will need to find another companion later on again (which may be a plus to some people who like variety).

I went to an ivy but nice try. You still think it's 1985 and don't even know the score scale of the SAT which shows how little you know. Everyone at my ivy who shared their score had over a 2200. The girl I know with a 1410 went to Stetson University in Deland, Florida and now sells pyramid scheme make up on facebook. You remind me of her with your low cognitive ability combined with extreme arrogance despite being dumb and wrong.

No! It was literally all of us meeting at a bar. But I guess the bar said you can reserve a table but have to spend 1200 or something like that. Which is fine. But I didn't know it was going to be ONE tab and didn't know about the minimum. I thought just collectively, we'd all hit 1200. I know people were drinking like 5 drinks and ordering shots. Why should we have to pay for that?

I am mainly interested in metaphors of what to compare it to. Some things I read say it's awful and painful and some say it's wonderful. Seems very controversial which is odd to me.

op: For example with periods I have never heard anyone say "Oh I just love having my period. It's so great!" It's either a neutral activity in terms of no cramps or negative symptoms or it's a painful activity like for my friend who has to take medication since her cramps are so bad. I guess I don't really see how breastfeeding is so bifurcated in people either loving it or hating it.

op: Why do you get to decide what matters? I'm the one who posted the question so clearly I think it matters. We are TTC now and I would like to breastfeed, but I am sort of a wimp when it comes to pain. I have to take advil every time I start my period. I don't know if period cramps are at all related to pain tolerance when breastfeeding, but I don't really know what else to compare it to. If you have nothing helpful to add, then you can feel free to leave the thread. UB isn't your own personal website, and I have just as much of a right to be here as you do, so you go away troll.

It hurts at first, while your nipples get used to it. Like A LOT. At least it did for me. After that, it feels satisfying because you can feel your breasts (which are hard when filled with milk) get softer as db eats.

Felt a little like suction to me. But I felt more suction when pumping than when nursing. With my first, there was never any pain. With my second, I experienced cramping when nursing for the first few days.

Yes. My understanding is that nursing helps your uterus contract. It was cramps on steroids.

op: yikes. good to know. I wonder if being on the minipill would solve this issue. I've read that it's okay to take the progestin only mini pill while breastfeeding, just not the regular birth control pill.

BFing after birth produces oxytocin. The oxytocin helps with 1) bonding 2) causing uterine contractions to shrink the uterus back to pre-pregnancy size. Normal. Minipill wouldn't do anything and you wouldn't be taking it that soon after birth anyway. Motherhood hurts, no way around it. - np

You don't want to stop it. The contractions are what get all the last of the gunk out of you and what help to shrink your uterus back to its original size. It is more painful for some than others but necessary in either case.

Same here. I never, ever, had menstrual cramps, but after the first child, the other two produced a LOT of cramping for the first few days to a week.
