Daniel Riegle begins his third year with the Mean Green Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer.

Riegle works with the football team in addition to overseeing the football graduate assistant athletic trainer. He is also be the primary contact for the North Texas Sports Medicine athletic training student internship program.

Riegle comes to North Texas after spending six years as the assistant athletic trainer at Stetson University in Deland, Fla. While at Stetson he served as the CPR Instructor for the athletic department as well as the strength and conditioning coordinator in addition to his athletic training duties which included working with men's soccer, men's and women's golf, baseball, and men's tennis teams.

While working with the baseball team for his first four years at Stetson, Riegle worked with a total of 11 student-athletes that were drafted into Major League Baseball, including a MLB NL Rookie of the Year. Riegle spent his final two years at Stetson assisting with the football team that included startup planning and team coverage.

Prior to Stetson University, Riegle attended undergraduate and graduate school at The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. In his five years there, he received his bachelor's degree in health sciences and his masters of athletic training degree. During his time at Findlay, Riegle worked with the school's volleyball, football, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, and softball teams.

Riegle is originally from Forest, Ohio. He currently holds certifications from National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and the American Red Cross as a Course Instructor. Riegle currently holds State Licensure in Texas, Ohio, and Florida.
