About the Office of Dean of Students

The mission of the Office of the Dean of Students is to support the academic success, healthy personal development, and ethical and professional formation of students, and to support and sustain the College of Law as an educational, social, and professional community.

In carrying out this mission, the Office works closely with the faculty of the College of Law, the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and other departments within the College of Law.

As a student, your primary contact on issues of student life and student affairs is the Office of the Dean of Students, either in person or through forms and policies that this Office provides. The Office of the Dean of Students is led by two assistant deans. Your initial contact with the office can be with either assistant dean; depending on your request, one assistant dean may take the lead in providing assistance, guidance or resolution.

Dallas Bar Association Student Membership

Approximately 10,000 lawyers are members of the Dallas Bar Association (DBA).  The DBA, located at the Belo Mansion, 2100 Ross Avenue, was the first Texas Bar association to incorporate. The mission of the Dallas Bar Association is to serve and support the legal profession in Dallas and to promote good relations among lawyers, the judiciary, and the community. Law students may join the DBA at the rate of $10 per year. The UNT Dallas College of Law strongly encourages each of our students to become members of the DBA.
