North Texas Tennis Heads To No. 23 Tulsa For A Weekend Dual

TULSA, Okla. - The North Texas tennis team travels to Tulsa, Okla. to take on No. 23 Tulsa Friday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. and No. 52 Kansas State Saturday, Feb. 22, at noon.

“We are building on the progress we have made so far, and the focus is improving every single day,” said head coach Sujay Lama. “Great opportunities lie in front of us this weekend. Tulsa has been the dominant team in Conference USA for a number of years and it will a good test for us to see where we stand. Kansas State is another ranked team that has gotten off to a great start this season.”

The 69th-ranked Mean Green is coming off of their first home match of the season, where they defeated Miami of Ohio, 4-1. They are looking upset the Golden Hurricane, who holds a 48-match home winning streak at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Saturdays match against 5-1 K-State will be the series tie breaker. The Mean Green won the last meeting between the schools, evening out the record at 3-3, with a 4-3 win in Fayetteville, Ark., in 2012.
