Swimming Signs Three To Letters Of Intent

DENTON (11/16/06) The North Texas Swimming and Diving team signed three girls to National Letters of Intent during the signing period. Ashley Sartin of Cleburne, Texas, Rosita Babo of Georgetown, Texas, and Kelly Gordon of Missouri City, Texas will join the Mean Green in 2007.

 

Sartin, a senior at Cleburne High School was named Team MVP three years at Cleburne. She holds school records in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, and 200 IM and she  qualified for state three years in a row. She also comes to North Texas with academic honors which include top 10 percent of her class, suma-cum-lada, and magna-cum-lada.

 

The Mean Green will also add Rosita Bado, a senior at Georgetown High School. She was a state finalist in swimming her sophomore year and was the district champion her freshman and sophomore years. Bado was a regional finalist all four years of high school. She received the honor of MVP her junior year at Georgetown High School and is an honor roll student.

 

Also joining the North Texas ranks will be Kelly Gordon, a senior from Elkins High School. Gordon was a finalist in regionals for three years. She has a 4.0 GPA and her academic honors include the Academic Excellence award three years running, All-American Scholastic, and the All-American Award. She is also in the Spanish honor society.

 

The Mean Green will attempt to notch their third and fourth wins of the year as they host San Diego State and Centenary Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center.
