NT Swimming And Diving Team Named To Academic All-American List

DENTON (7/6/05) North Texas swimming and diving was named to the Academic All-American team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America for the 2005 spring semester.

 

The CSCAA recognizes the top 70 teams of the 186 in women’s NCAA Division-I competition with the highest team grade point averages for the previous school semester. North Texas ranked 46th on the list with a team GPA of 3.17.

 

The Mean Green was the only Sun Belt team to receive the recognition and was ranked ahead of TCU and Princeton. Texas A&M finished one place ahead of the Mean Green with a team GPA of 3.18.

 

The Mean Green swimming and diving team held the highest cumulative team GPA of any sport at North Texas for the 2004 school year with 16 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 GPA. Eleven swimmers earned a 3.5 or better in at least one of two semesters during the school year.

 

Senior all-conference swimmer Bethany Pipes held the highest GPA on the team.
