Gentile, Mean Green Oust UALR

DENTON, Texas- The Mean Green couldn't be stopped today as they defeated UALR 137-124 at the Pohl Recreation Center.

North Texas jumped out early winning four of the first five events and finished the day seizing a first place victory in 13 of the 16 events.

"The purpose of this meet is to snap us back into competitive mode after a month straight of hard training without a meet," commented Dykstra. "This was really good meet to have before the next week's tough match up with TCU."

Senior Rosa Gentile navigated the way for the Mean Green as she captured a win in all four of her events. Gentile opened and closed the day on the winning relay team, prevailing in the 200 Yard IM Relay (1:47.76) and 200 Yard Free Relay (1:37.82). The senior also captured the 100 Breast (1:08.51) and 100 Free (53.71).

Catia Weickgenant helped spark the Mean Green by winning the first individual race in the 1000 yard free (10:27.30) after the opening 200 Yard Free Relay. The junior remained unbeaten for the day in individual races as she won the 200 Yard IM in 2:09.65.

Sophomore Rebecca Taylor set a school record in the three-meter dive (298.13), snapping her own month-old score of 282.05.

The Mean Green quickly return the pool for Senior Day on Friday, January 20, against cross town rival TCU at the Pohl Recreation Center at 6:00 PM.
