What is your favorite place on campus? Why?
My favorite place on campus is Willis Library (aka Club Willis) because with its coffee shop and study areas, it’s the perfect place to catch up on assignments and pull the occasional all-nighter.
If you attended UNT, why did you decide to attend?
I decided to attend UNT because it is so different from many of the other universities in Texas. It had an eclectic student body and so many great student organizations; there’s something for everyone here! UNT is also located in a great town. Denton has amazing music, food, and a very strong sense of community. I love that I get to call Denton ‘home.’
What do you believe is the best resource UNT offers for transfer students?
The UNT Transfer Counselors! We’re here to answer any questions you might have so that your transfer process goes as smoothly as possible.
What advice would you give to a community college transfer to UNT?
Make use of the resources available to you! Take a tour, meet with a transfer counselor, and consult UNT transfer guides. Once you are a student here make it a point to get to know your professors; they are there to help you. The more you know, the more successful you are. Hand in hand with that, I’d say to get involved. Find an organization or activity that you love and be a part of it. Feeling connected to your university makes your college experience that much more enjoyable.
What do you enjoy doing when not at work?
When I’m not at work I love hanging out on the Denton square with my husband and my dog. Recycled Books is one of my favorite haunts and there are tons of great restaurants and live music just about every night of the week. I love to stop by LSA for Texas themed burgers and the best way to end the night is with some Beth Marie's ice cream!
