How do I know if my application was approved?

The review of Fall 2016 graduation candidates will be completed by November 18. Students will be contacted by UNTD student email regarding their application status by November 23, 2016.

How do I know if I qualify for honors?

An email will be sent out to all students who qualify for honors by November 23. This email will include information on how to order and wear honors regalia for commencement. The commencement program will include a notation on applicable honors based on the student’s current overall GPA prior to fall semester final grades.

What if I missed the deadline to apply for fall graduation?

Students who have not yet applied for fall graduation may contact the Office of the Registrar at 972-780-3664 or at registrar@untdallas.edu for more information. Any students who are approved late through appeal for fall graduation are not guaranteed to have their name printed in the commencement program.

Where can I order my cap/gown/stole/class rings/announcements?

Visit the UNT Dallas Bookstore on campus or contact them at 972-780-3652 or at untdallas@bkstr.com.

How do I RSVP for commencement?

RSVP cards are available at the Registrar's Office on campus (first floor lobby of Building One). RSVP cards must be submitted by December 1, 2016.

How many people can I invite to the rehearsal or commencement?

Rehearsal on Wednesday, December 14 is reserved for Fall 2016 graduation candidates or Summer 2016 graduates only. For commencement on Friday, December 16, students are able to invite all immediate family and friends as tickets will not be required for the Fall 2016 ceremony.

What time do I need to arrive for commencement?

Students should be at IBOC Auditorium on Friday, December 16 no later than 4:00 p.m. There will be instructions when you arrive on where to check in and line up for the ceremony. Any guests will need to arrive and be seated by 5:00 p.m. for commencement.

What if my final exam is the same time as rehearsal or commencement?

All instructors have been contacted and should already have made arrangements with any Fall 2016 graduation candidates in their classes. Please contact your instructor for more information on final exam arrangements. The final exam schedule for Fall 2016 can be accessed here.

How do I get to IBOC and where should I park?

There is ample parking at IBOC for all students and guests. There will be instructions when you arrive on where to park for graduation candidates, faculty/staff, and guests. More information on parking arrangements and maps to IBOC will be updated on this FAQ webpage by November 25. 

What if I need special accommodations for myself or my guests?

Students or guests who need special accommodations for commencement will need to contact the UNT Dallas Office of Disability Services at 972-338-1777 or at UNTDdisability@untdallas.edu.

When can I expect to receive my diploma?

Diplomas for students should be mailed 6 to 8 weeks after final grades and requirements are confirmed.
