Experiential Learning Opportunities for your Students:

Please contact us for a list of organizations that are looking for UNTD students to complete internships, service learning, and volunteer hours with them this summer.

Students can always search on College Central Network for service learning or internship opportunities. Students can also track their internship experience on College Central Network through the Experiential Learning Agreement.

Experiential Learning Data Collection:

As many of you know, we are now actively documenting experiential learning each semester. This information is needed for numerous reasons, one of which is to support the need for funding for future experiential learning opportunities. In addition, as part of the UNT System strategic plan, each campus is being asked to assess the ways in which faculty engage our students with experiential learning, and to what capacity. We need your feedback, even if you do not feel you have done any experiential learning in your classes this semester, we are trying to establish a baseline of data for our institution. Experiential Learning Survey link: coming soon!

Experiential [learning] is a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values” (Association for Experiential Education). Experiential learning is also referred to as learning through action, learning by doing, learning through experience, and learning through discovery and exploration.
