During the Fall 2016 semester, the Distance Learning Advisory Committee will be selecting two faculty members to be honored with the annual Excellence in Online Teaching Awards:
- Innovative Teaching with Technology, and
- Outstanding Online Course
The awards will recognize and reward superior online teaching, provide models of excellence and innovation for fellow faculty, and encourage all faculty to continue to improve and advance:
- their online teaching pedagogy and/or
- their use of instructional technology in support of the teaching and learning process
Purpose
The Excellence in Online Teaching Awards seeks to identify and recognize faculty at University of North Texas at Dallas who demonstrate successful online learning and teaching that exemplify the best integrations of pedagogy and technology. It‘s a means to recognize the excellence of faculty and their innovative contributions to the quality of teaching and learning through the application of information technology.
The awards will be presented annually to faculty members who, in the opinion of colleagues, Chairs, Deans, the Distance Learning Advisory Committee, the Office of Distance Learning & Instructional Technologies, and the Provost, have advanced the art of instructional technology in the effective presentation of their courses.
This initiative provides models of excellence for fellow faculty, and encourage all faculty to continue to improve and advance their online teaching pedagogy.
