Cynthia is a Texas native who currently serves as Instructional Design Coordinator and is the first professional to serve in this capacity at UNT Dallas campus. She has over 10-years of experience in higher education environment, including roles as online adjunct instructor, master quality assurance online course reviewer, senior instructional designer for allied health colleges and schools, online program director and a grant manager for a $25 million NIH grant at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  She has a diverse skillset in faculty training, distance education, program/project management, and online teaching. 

She received her Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science in Health Studies with an emphasis in higher education from Texas Woman’s University and is certified in Online Education from University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She also serves as a Master Reviewer and Institutional Representative for the national Quality Matters program.

Her passion lies in mentoring and coaching young underserved women to achieve their personal, academic and career goals. Cynthia is president of Young Women’s Empowerment Program, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that specializes in college readiness for junior and senior high school females.
