Professor Dickman is the Director of the Writing Program and an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Languages and Communication. His primary research interest is in transfer, or the phenomenon of successfully applying knowledge or skills learned in one context to new situations and contexts. This simple idea that lies at the heart of education has a big impact on how we should approach the classroom and the curriculum.
Professor Dickman teaches First-Year Writing, Technical Writing, and New Media Writing.
