UNIVERSITY DAY 2016 WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 7TH

11:00am - 1:30pm - Library Mall

The first University Day was held on May 10, 1961, when North Texas State College became North Texas State University. Now, we celebrate our university status every year with free food, music, and activities. Join us for a picnic lunch, giveaways, and entertainment. Free with current UNT Faculty, Staff, or Student ID.

For the fifth year, the annual Flag Parade will precede University Day. Groups of students from different countries around the world (wearing their native dress and carrying their native flag), along with student organizations, will participate. The parade starts at 11AM at Marquis Hall. The official University Day ceremony will start at 11:30AM, which includes a welcome; a historical proclamation by the Mayor of Denton, pronouncing the college a university; and music by the pep band. UNT departments, student organizations, and local vendors will be on hand to distribute information about their respective areas.

Student Organizations and Departments Tabling Information

Department/Student Org Table Signup and Flag Parade Registration - CLOSED

Student organizations must be currently registered (Spring 2017) with Student Activities in order to participate.Registration opens in Spring 2017.

Rules for Hosting a Table

• All organizations, departments, etc., must check in between 11:00-11:20am, have their table set up by 11:20am, and must maintain coverage at the table from 11:30am to 1:30pm
• One 6' table will be provided per group
• Table selection day of will be available on a first come, first serve basis (after check-in)
• There can be absolutely NO music or amplified sound at the table
• Please GO GREEN and do not use paper fliers or handouts
• Groups are encouraged to provide interactive games or activities, and especially encouraged to make them UNT-themed
