Biography
Kevin Fralicks is the Executive Director of Development for the University of North Texas’ College of Business in Denton, Texas. Kevin assumed the job in August of 2014 with the mission of increasing corporate engagement and major giving for capital and program initiatives. Kevin works directly with the Dean of the College and the Vice President for University Advancement on major projects that the College of Business identifies as vital for support. Kevin’s core strength is engagement and relationships. He is a negotiator that leads projects with positive engagement and partnerships. He serves the College and works with senior administration on university-based initiatives as well. Kevin is a valuable, relied-upon resource for the university and its mission to become a nationally recognized research institution. A core value of the College of Business is “to prepare its students for success in business and public service”. Kevin has been a chief administrator in both of these arenas and is a strong resource to the students and faculty. He relates real world experience to academia.
Prior to serving UNT, Kevin was in a very similar role at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He served as a senior member of administration. His key role was to assist in the leadership of annual giving and work with the development team to launch a multi-million dollar fundraising and capital development campaign. Kevin and his colleagues were instrumental in launching Momentum: The Campaign for Mary Hardin-Baylor, a $100 million dollar campaign with emphasis in initiating a master plan that focuses on construction of a Nursing Education Center, a Center for Visual Arts, a Football Locker facility, a Student Union Building, a Football Stadium, a Performing Arts Center, and emphasis on growing the endowment.
Prior to his role with UMHB, Kevin served in higher education administration roles at the University of Texas at Arlington and a prior role with the University of North Texas. Kevin was the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Development and External Affairs for the University of Texas at Arlington. He joined the UT Arlington staff as they were forging ahead with the development of their new arena, the College Park Center. Prior to being at UT Arlington, Kevin served as Associate Athletic Director for Development at his alma mater, the University of North Texas. His major duties within the UT Arlington and UNT Athletic Departments included leading annual fund and major gift fundraising efforts for athletic facility and program development, generating private and corporate partnerships that will support and enhance facilities and programs, overseeing the strategic plan for the entire department, and leading all external affairs initiatives to establish partnerships and collaborative ventures. While at UTA, Kevin was instrumental in increasing athletic giving and charting a new course for success. Kevin launched new policy and business practice for the UT Arlington Athletic Department that has resulted in change. He created an Athletic Advisory Board and he has encouraged the group to be aggressive. Kevin teamed with senior administration at UT Arlington and established the first Athletic Advisory Board. For the first time in UT Arlington Athletic history there is an active path to cultivating donors, raising money and building new facilities.
While at UNT, Kevin was on a team that led one of the most aggressive athletic facility development campaigns in the university’s history. He and his team has led fundraising programs and initiatives for many new facilities; including a new tennis center, new soccer stadium, new softball stadium, new athletic training and administration center, new academic center for student athletes, and a new football stadium.
Kevin is a 1987 graduate of the University of North Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, with major emphasis in Kinesiology, Leisure Management, and Political Science. Prior to coming to the University of North Texas, Kevin spent 16 years in city administration in the areas of parks, recreation, community services and community development. Kevin was responsible for overseeing the funding management, design, and operations of many municipal park and recreation facilities. Kevin has served on several professional state and national Boards of Directors and has been the keynote speaker in the leisure profession for regional and national conferences in Texas, Maryland, Utah, and Colorado.
Kevin is a native of Duncanville, Texas where he was a two sport athlete. He played amateur soccer in the Dallas area and went on to the University of North Texas. While at the University of North Texas Kevin went to work for the Recreational Sports Office and developed a love for public management and administration in general. He earned his degree and quickly went to work in municipal sports administration which later landed him in community administration and community development. He has spent the last 12 years in university senior administration.
Kevin is the 2002 recipient of the UNT Distinguished Alumni Award for the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies (Sports Administration), and he served on the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department Advisory Committee from 2001 to 2009. Kevin and his wife Lucie have three children; Erin Fralicks Whitlock, age 26, is a graduate of UNT and is in her fourth professional year in municipal recreation with the City of Grand Prairie. Elissa Fralicks Worster, age 24, is a graduate of UT Arlington and she is in her second year as a 4th Grade teacher in the Arlington, Texas Public Schools. Jake, age 22, is a senior at UMHB majoring is sports management. Jake wants to pursue a career in higher education athletic administration.
