Academic Interests

Ms. McDaniel teaches Finance classes and serves as faculty advisor to the Financial Management Association.  She currently teaches Finance (FINA 3770) and Financial Statement Analysis (FINA 4300).

Biography

Ms. McDaniel has more than 20 years of experience in investment portfolio management and client service. She is currently utilizing her experience as a practitioner in the financial services industry to help students within the College of Business through a combination of teaching finance courses and working with student organizations such as the CFA Research Challenge and Financial Management Association.

Prior to her current role Ms. McDaniel worked with both private wealth and institutional clients as an investment advisor and portfolio manager. In those roles, she developed and executed investment strategy for clients and provided economic commentary. She managed institutional taxable fixed-income accounts and collective funds consisting of government, corporate and mortgage-backed securities.

Ms. McDaniel received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas, at Little Rock, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Arkansas, at Fayetteville.  She also has attained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  She is a past President of the CFA Society of DFW having served on the board since 2003 and also served as a director of the CFA Societies of Texas.
