ProctorU
ProctorU is a live online proctoring service for test takers taking exams online. Proctors use a three-step process to replicate the face-to-face proctoring experience over the internet by:
- Connecting with a test taker via webcam
- Monitoring the test taker's computer screen in real time
- Authenticating the test taker's identity using a multifactor process

Costs
The cost for a student to use the ProctorU service is $22.50 per two-hour exam. Exam times are based on the maximum time limit of the exam being proctored. Additional hours are charged at a rate of $8.75. A student who wishes to cancel an exam, must contact ProctorU at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Test takers who fail to show up for an exam without notice, will not be eligible for a refund.
Instructors should schedule exams no later than 72 hours in advance.There will be a $5.00 charge added to all exams scheduled less than 72 hours in advance.
Note: Instructors who require use of this proctoring service must communicate the anticipated cost to students prior to registration by publishing it in the comment field of the Schedule of Classes.
Scheduling an Exam (Instructors)
ProctorU provides an exam scheduling application that is integrated with Blackboard Learn. Contact your CLEAR instructional consultant to have ProctorU enabled for your class. Once the ProctorU integration has been enabled, you will be able to add an exam, enter settings, indicate any permitted resources, and set the exam window. After this information is submitted, ProctorU's assessment services review the exam information and enter it into their system. Instructors are notified when the exam has been activated so that students can begin scheduling their appointments.
The assessment will be administered from the course in Blackboard Learn. When creating the exam, a password will need to be set-up in the exam properties. The password will be given to ProctorU via the integrated form. When the student contacts ProctorU during the scheduled testing period, ProctorU will provide the student the password. Therefore, the student will not have access to the exam before contacting ProctorU.
