General Support Information: The Microcomputer Maintenance and Support team members support UNT-owned microcomputers for university employees by providing expertise and services to maintain existing microcomputer equipment and assist with the selection of new computers and upgrades of hardware.

The MMS Shop team members are authorized to repair only the following UNT-owned computers.
     • Apple desktop and notebook computers less than six years old
     • Dell desktop and notebook computers less than six years old

Other Hardware
Not supported by MMS: Printers, iPods, iPads, iPhones, data projectors or hand-held devices, such as personal digital assistants

About Warranties
     • All UNT-computer purchases are required to include the purchase of at least a three-year hardware warranty.
     • While under warranty, computers will be repaired by the MMS Shop at no additional charge.
     • After the warranty expires, departments will be charged for the cost of repair parts, if necessary. 
     • Peripherals, such as monitors, keyboards, speakers and mice, are included in the warranty of the computer with which they were originally purchased.
     • Consumable supplies, such as batteries, have limited warranties. For example, most notebook batteries are under warranty only for one year. Departments are responsible for ordering their own batteries after the warranty expires.
