Hospitality is a diverse, exciting, and rapidly growing global industry. Whether your current or future responsibilities involve lodging or restaurant operations, travel services, gaming and entertainment, special events planning, or recreation management—UNT Dallas provides educational opportunities to help you meet your professional goals. Hospitality Management is currently a concentration in the Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree at UNTD. We anticipate that this area of study will become a major in Fall 2015; the major is currently undergoing the approval process. In the meantime, the BAAS degree offers the Hospitality Management concentration.

Description of the Field

The Hospitality Management program at UNTD is led by seasoned hospitality professionals who bring years of industry experience to their work in the college classroom. The program features specialized hospitality coursework in operations management, food safety and nutrition, strategic marketing, human resources, and hospitality law.  As students complete the core requirements for the program, they also gain National Restaurant Association certification in such areas as Human Services Management, Sanitation and Food Safety, Inventory and Purchasing, and Special Events, among others.  Whether your dream is to own a Bed & Breakfast, travel the world working for a cruise line, or designing menus for hospital patients, a degree in hospitality management is your key to one of the world’s fastest growing industries.
