DUBLIN, Ireland -- Navy Adm. James Stavridis, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), visited Ireland from 17 – 18 June on the invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Irish army Lt. Gen. Sean McCann.

DUBLIN, Ireland — Navy Adm. James Stavridis, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), visited Ireland from 17 – 18 June on the invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Irish army Lt. Gen. Sean McCann.
While there, he met with the Secretary General of the Irish Department of Defense, Mr. Michael Howard.
At the beginning of his tenure as SACEUR in July 2009, Stavridis declared his intention to pay a visit to all partner and NATO countries and he continued to fulfill this goal with his trip to Ireland.
Stavridis expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality. He emphasized his strong satisfaction with the productive talks and the positive impressions he would be taking home from this visit.
