Strategic Plan

The IT Shared Services (ITSS) Strategic Plan uses a standard strategic planning methodology. The plan is designed around a standard strategy map, balanced scorecard, strategic objectives and tactical initiatives that flow downward. Strategy drives the scorecard and the objectives, and strategic objectives drive the tactical initiatives. Tactical initiatives are achievable pieces of work that have a definite beginning and end and can be measured.

The ITSS Strategic Plan is based upon the overarching directives provided to it by the UNT System Board of Regents, the Chancellor, and the three University Presidents. The plan's goals are simple: • Improve ITSS functions, services and solutions to minimize cost • Deliver exceptional customer service • Provide innovative solutions for problems faced by UNT System entities - UNT, UNT Health Science Center, UNT Dallas and the UNT System.

The primary mission of the UNT System is to educate students. The ITSS plan supports activities that improve not only business operations but also those systems that support the primary purpose of the UNT System. Additionally, the strategic plan addresses activities that are internal to the ITSS organization.
