PLP Student Directors

Victor Martinez, President
Victor is a Finance undergraduate student at the University of North Texas. He will be serving as President & Student Director for the year 2016 – 2017. Victor dedicates most of his time to the Professional Leadership Program, UNT Rugby Team, T-Mobile and the Kappa Gamma Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

Victor interned at New York Life in Summer 2015 under the Process Improvement Team, where he gained a better understanding of what it takes to overcome challenges faced when improving the way in which a process is done. He enjoys being around people and making others laugh. After graduation he plans on moving to New York to take a shot at Wall Street.



Caroline Seidel, Vice President
Caroline Seidel serves as Vice President for the Professional Leadership Program. She is a senior majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. Caroline has been a member of PLP, Women in Business, the Student Investment Group and other organizations on campus. She has had two internships and plans on pursuing positions in finance upon graduation in 2017.



Xavier Sykes, Vice President
Xavier Sykes is senior studying Finance and Mandarin at the University of North Texas. He is a member of the North Texas 40 Student Foundation (NT40) and currently serves as Resident Assistant at Clark Hall as well as a Student Director in the Professional Leadership Program. Over the summer of 2016, Xavier interned with Ivie and Associates. Xavier has been an Honors student since his first semester at UNT and is passionate about achieving academic excellence in himself and in others.Xavier Sykes is the ultimate team player. He loves seeing people come together and accomplish their goals, but more importantly, he loves the bonds that develop out of it. Xavier wants to use his skills acquired at UNT to continue to push any boundaries placed in his way.



James Verfurth, Facilitator Liaison
James A. Verfurth is an undergraduate student at the University of North Texas currently pursuing a BBA in Finance. He is entering his second year in the Professional Leadership Program serving as Facilitator Liaison and Corporate Ambassador. James interned at Wells Fargo with the Wholesale Banking group in downtown Dallas and maintains a Sales Management position for a franchise operator of GNCs. He is a member of the Honors College at UNT and has remained on the President's List for five consecutive semesters. After completing his undergraduate studies in May 2017, he intends on working in the Financial sector and pursuing an MBA and a JD. Outside of the office and classroom, James enjoys sports (especially golfing), staying current in foreign affairs and politics, and spending time with friends and family.



Victoria Petty, Marketing Coordinator
Victoria Petty is currently Marketing Coordinator for the Professional Leadership Program. She is a senior Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management major graduating in Spring 2017. Victoria also serves on the Student Health Advisory Committee. She has volunteered for various organizations, Texoma Medical Center being one of her most key experiences so far. She has plans to attend graduate school in Fall 2017 to pursue her Masters of Healthcare Administration.



Christina Pham, Marketing Coordinator
Christina Pham is the Marketing and Communications Student Director for the Professional Leadership Program. She is a junior double majoring in Finance and Marketing with a concentration in Professional Selling and will graduate in spring 2018. She serves as the Vice President of Professional Activities for the professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi and is a College of Business Ambassador. In addition, she is a member of Delta Gamma and has served as a junior analyst for the Student Investment Group. Christina enjoys meeting people and trying new things.



Amal Farooq, Volunteer Coordinator
Amal is and undergraduate senior pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She will serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Professional Leadership Program Class of 2016-2017. Amal is also the Vice Chair of the Student Health Advisory Committee and a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta and Medically Dedicated Students Organization. She currently works at the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at UNT. Amal also conducts microbiological research under the Biology Department, and will be interning with Texas Teratogens Information Services in Spring 2017.

Amal is passionate about healthcare education, community service, and helping others succeed through servant leadership. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, painting with acrylic on canvas, and baking pastries and cakes. Following graduation, Amal hopes to attend medical school and become a practicing physician in the state of Texas.



Callie Stiewig, Volunteer Coordinator
Callie is an undergraduate senior at the University of North Texas pursuing a BBA in Marketing with minors in Music and Economics. In addition to her academic duties, she is a founding member of the UNT Canterbury Episcopal Student Ministry and serves as its President. Callie is currently a Business Development and Marketing Assistant at Avaya Technologies, a freelance cellist, and a traditional artist with a focus on oil painting and drawing. She is also an active member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honors Society, the American Marketing Association, and the UNT Honors College.

Callie strives to uphold academic excellence while fostering valuable relationships with peers, mentors, and business professionals through her academic and volunteering activities. Upon graduation, Callie hopes to pursue a career in arts administration and aims to facilitate and increase exposure of artists within their communities.



Tola Adeniji, Project Manager
Tola Adeniji serves as the Project Manager for the 2016-2017 Professional Leadership Program. She is a Senior Speech Language Pathology major with minors in Applied Behavior Analysis and Spanish graduating in Spring 2017. Tola served as the President of the African Student's Organization 2015, while also being the Site Leader for the Alternative Service Break trip to Camp Summit in Paradise, Tx. Tola is a proud member of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She is a Mentor with the Mentor Denton program to a Denton High School Sophomore. She enjoys laughing, singing, and bowling with family and friends. Her life quote is: Life is a song - sing it. Andy Lopez, Project Manager
Andy is a senior at the University of North Texas pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and is set to graduate in May 2017. Andy has experience in the engineering industry as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at POCO Graphite, an Entegris Company, and LinkUp International Corporation. Additionally, Andy joined the Professional Leadership program and became a member of the Leadership Council before being selected as Project Manager for the 2016-2017 Academic Year. He has a passion for problem-solving, operational improvement, and helping others achieve their dreams. After graduation, he plans to start his career in manufacturing engineering and later obtain his MBA.



Reggie Davis, Social Coordinator
Reggie Davis is an undergraduate senior at the University of North Texas (UNT), majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Currently, he is a member of NT40, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., he serves as an officer for the Logistics Student Association (LogSA), and also serves as a Student Director for the Professional Leadership Program (PLP). Reggie is a Tour Guide for the college of business, where he gives tours for prospective students interested in becoming business students at UNT. He enjoys playing sports with friends, music, and making new friends. Upon his graduation, Reggie plans to pursue a career in Supply Chain and optimize transportation for a Fortune 500 company. Ultimately he hopes to earn enough to retire and purchase his own franchise.



Mario Navarrette, Social Coordinator
Mario is an undergraduate senior at the University of North Texas (UNT) and majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Currently, he is a member of NT40, Green Jackets, and also serves as a Student Director for the Professional Leadership Program (PLP). Mario is an Eagle Ambassador for UNT, where he gives tours for prospective students interested in attending the university. He likes meeting new people and having a fun environment around him. Upon graduation, Mario wants to pursue a career in engineering in which he wants to make prosthetics, and where he will combine medical knowledge with technical expertise.



Hame Havili, Leadership Council Coordinator
Hame is an undergraduate student majoring in Aviation Logistics and is serving as the Leadership Council Coordinator of the Professional Leadership Program. He is also a member of the UNT Rugby Team and the Kappa Gamma chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Hame works for the Housing Maintenance department at the University of North Texas, and is an Allied Barton security officer. Upon graduation, he plans to work as a manager of an airline or a major airport.
